Our Programmes
Three ways Cempaka supports older relatives at home
Each programme is designed around a specific family need — staying connected, having daily company, or keeping practical life running smoothly.
Back to HomeHow we approach every arrangement
Before any programme begins, Cempaka takes time to understand the household — its rhythm, the relative's preferences, and the family's schedule. That information shapes everything.
Introductory visit
Companion meets your relative at home with no commitments either way.
Programme planning
Schedule, activity outline, and errand calendar agreed with the family.
Sessions begin
Companion attends on agreed days with a prepared plan and updates family at close of day.
Two-week review
Family and Cempaka check in to adjust anything that would make the arrangement work better.
Programme 01
Technology Connection Help
Setting up and explaining simple video calls, messaging applications, and photo sharing so an older relative stays in contact with family near and far. Designed for households where keeping connected has been difficult because of unfamiliar devices.
The programme consists of an initial setup session followed by a few gentle practice sessions at the relative's own pace. A large-print quick-reference guide is left in the home, and a short refresher visit is included in the scope.
What is included
- Initial device configuration and account setup
- Multiple practice sessions until your relative feels confident
- Large-print quick-reference guide (stays in the home)
- One refresher visit after the initial sessions
- Works with your relative's existing devices
How sessions are structured
Device and account review — understanding what is already on the device and what your relative wants to use
Setup and first call — connecting family contacts and making a practice call together
Guided practice — repeating the steps until they feel natural and the guide is no longer needed
Refresher visit — checking in a few weeks later to address anything that has come up

Programme 02
Daytime Companionship Programme
Structured daytime company at home with conversation, light shared activities, shared meals, and gentle afternoon presence. For families who want an older relative to have a warm, familiar face during working hours rather than spending the day alone.
Sessions are arranged on chosen days each week. A companion schedule and activity outline are prepared in advance, and a brief end-of-day note is sent to the family after each session.
What is included
- Companion present on chosen weekdays
- Prepared companion schedule with agreed times
- Tailored activity outline based on your relative's preferences
- End-of-day note sent to family contact after each session
- Two-week check-in to adjust anything as needed
A typical session
Companion arrives and settles in — a cup of tea, a chat about the morning
Mid-morning activity — reading together, a short walk, a puzzle, or simply conversation
Shared meal — lunch or afternoon refreshments at the relative's usual time
Session closes — brief note sent to family before companion leaves
